A New Smartphone May Be Exactly What It’s Cracked Up to Be

We know walnuts are pretty tough. It’s why we need crackers to get to the good stuff.

No one would ever think to use their smartphone as a way to crack walnuts, right? Well, until now.

Most of us have dropped our cell phone one time or another. Some of us are lucky in that it never cracked, while others of us, use a cracked screen daily or have paid the hundreds of dollars to get it replaced.

The good news for those of us who have a tendency to drop our phones a bit too often is that there is one that is rugged enough to crack you guessed it – walnuts.

The Power of the Bluboo R1 – It IS a Cracker!

The Bluboo R1 – the name already sparked our attention. This new model is going to launch in the near future, and it’s already making waves in the cellphone industry.

This new smartphone will be able to handle drops, dust, and water. That’s right, you can drop it up to 2 meters and it will be perfectly fine, even if there is no case on it. You can even put it in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes without the devastation of water damage. Exciting, right?

As the manufacturers of this phone are getting ready for its debut, they decided to see how strong it really is by, of course, cracking walnuts with it.

They place a walnut on a table, and then they placed the phone right on top of it and pushed down on it. No one would ever think or dare do this because let’s face it, most screens would shatter in  a heart beat because of the toughness of a walnut’s shell. Not the Bluboo R1 though. The phone cracked the walnut easily.

The manufacturers took it through another test, which is a bit more tough than walnuts, and that’s nails. They were able to drive nails into wood with the phone. Now, that’s a rugged phone!

Although, they are not recommending that anyone actually use to crack nuts or drive nails, it is the perfect phone for anyone who works in an industrial settings. It also comes with a hefty battery of 7150mAh and has wireless fast charging capabilities.

Hong Kong showed off this phone last month. It’s unknown at this time when it will be available for sales in the United States.
